Amateur golfer Tom Sherreard has completed a sensational finish to his debut Open Championship.

The 20-year-old, from Maidstone, scored an eagle and a birdie on the final two holes to finish two over par for the day at Royal Birkdale.

He final score, after 72 gruelling holes in high winds, was +14. With conditions still difficult today, he may yet finish near the top 20.
