Maidstone are on a mission to reconnect with disillusioned supporters.
The team's relationship with fans suffered during Harry Wheeler's ill-fated four-month spell and caretaker managers Tristan Lewis and Simon Walton are determined to put it right.
Together, with the club, they have organised an open training session at the Gallagher Stadium today (gates open 10am) followed by a meet-and-greet with players in the Spitfire Lounge.
The pair have also encouraged the squad to mix with supporters in the bar after home games.
Lewis said: "It’s all of us together.
"When I was a kid watching Wycombe, they were my heroes.
"They were in the Conference but I knew when I turned up who would play, what type of character they were, what type of person they were.
"As a fan of a club, you have to feel that.
"I haven’t been in the bar once after a game here and I don’t see the players go in there.
"It’s that reconnection that sometimes then, if someone makes a mistake, if you know them because you’ve been with them and had a chat with them, you don’t get on their back.
"If the players love the supporters and vice-versa and we’re all together, we are going to lose games but you’ve got more chance of winning them.
"That’s all it is. There’s no secrets. The boys will train as they train and they’ll work hard and enjoy it.
"Let’s make them feel special but also the supporters need to be made to feel special sometimes as well."
