Tonbridge loan signing Shamir Goodwin was linked with Liverpool just a year ago - and Angels boss Tommy Warrilow is delighted to have him.
The striker, 19, marked his arrival on a month’s loan from Brighton by scoring Angels’ second goal in the 3-1 Skrill South win over Whitehawk last weekend.
Warrilow said: “We’ve been struggling for goals and I wanted to get someone in. We asked Brighton the question and they weren’t sure at first.
“We’ve got big games coming up and it will do him the world of good being here.
“There was bit of interest from Liverpool a year or so ago. He’s quick, he works hard and he’s a good finisher – all the things defenders hate.
“Non-league football is more professional than it’s ever been and I’ve told Sham to treat it as though all the top teams are looking at him. Brighton came to watch him on Saturday, so it’s not like they’ve forgotten about him.”
Angels, 18th in Skrill South, travel to third-placed Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday.
