Maidstone United have signed an international striker who played in the Premier League just two years ago.
Jamar Loza, a free agent after leaving Norwich City in the summer, has joined the Stones and could feature against Gateshead on Saturday.
Loza, who has three caps for Jamaica, made his Premier League debut for the Canaries as a 58th-minute substitute against Arsenal in May 2014.
The 22-year-old, who is lightning-quick, also has Football League experience from loan spells at Coventry, Leyton Orient, Southend, Yeovil and Stevenage.
Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “He came training a couple of weeks back, played in a behind-closed-doors friendly and impressed straight away.
“He’s got good experience for a young lad, he’s played league football and, for him, he wants to be playing. We can give him that chance here and hopefully he’ll deliver for us.”
Loza said: “I play up front or in behind the striker or on the flanks as well, so I’ll just play wherever I’m selected really.
“It’s given me a lot of experience playing league football. It’s very different to under-21s football, gets you used to the physical side of the game, so I’m ready and raring to go.
“I’m hoping to score a lot of goals and help them climb up the table and have a good run of games.”
