New Maidstone signing Joseph N'Guessan was on trial with Scottish Premiership club Kilmarnock before arriving at the Gallagher.
Striker N'Guessan returned south after his stint with Killie and signed for United at the end of last week.
Saturday's game against North Ferriby came too soon for the 21-year-old, who started his career at Stevenage and spent last season in the development squad at QPR.
But he's in boss Jay Saunders' thoughts for the Boxing Day derby at promotion-chasing Dover.
Saunders said: "I think he’s a finisher, he’s looked sharp and he’s got quite a good goalscoring record so I think he’ll add something a little bit different to us.
"But he’s a little bit off fitness, he hasn’t played much regular football so it’s one of them where we had to make a decision on him for North Ferriby and I didn’t think he was quite ready to come in. Maybe Boxing Day that’ll change.
"I found out about him through the same fella I know that brought Jamar Loza to the club.
"He made me aware of him a couple of months back.
"He’d been at Kilmarnock on trial and he became available so we’re having a look at him."
