Young Gillingham striker Joe Gbode has joined Maidstone United on a month’s loan.

Gbode, 18, has trained with his new team-mates and could make his debut in the Stones’ National League South game at Torquay this Saturday.

The forward, who signed his first professional deal in March, has made four appearances for Neil Harris’ side this season and featured six times last term.

Gbode enjoyed prolific loan spells at Isthmian Premier Hastings last season and has also spent time with Folkestone and Margate.

Maidstone are due to host Gillingham in the Kent Senior Cup on October 17.
