Boreham Wood 1 Maidstone 2
MAIDSTONE United came from behind to beat Boreham Wood 2-1 in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday.
For the second consecutive week the Stones got off to an appalling start when they allowed Marvin Samuel to score with deflected shot after just three minutes.
United looked vulnerable for most of the first half, particularly at corners, but they somehow kept the home side out and equalised on the stroke of half-time when Lynden Rowland turned in Sam Tydeman's cross.
The Stones looked a far better proposition in the second half and took the lead on 54 minutes when Conor Hagan chested down Tydeman's cross and brilliantly found the top corner at the near post.
Although Wood threatened occasionally in the final half hour, United's reorganised defence held out despite the loss of Rob Owen to a hamstring injury with four minutes left when all three substitutions had been made.
