Hakan Hayrettin is weighing up changes for Maidstone’s game at Hampton & Richmond today.
The Stones are back in action 48 hours after beating Billericay and the manager must decide whether to stick with a winning side or freshen things up for the quick turnaround.
“We’ve got a good squad and we’ll probably utilise the squad on Monday,” said Hayrettin, speaking after the 1-0 victory against Billericay made it three wins out of three.
“Some who weren’t involved at all may be involved.
“Listen, I don’t give them the shirt, they earn the shirt, it’s my job to take it off them to give it to somebody else and they know that.”
Maidstone are enjoying their best start to a season for seven years but Hayrettin is keeping his feet on the ground.
“It means nothing,” he said.
“I’ve had campaigns I’ve been involved in where we’ve had really good starts and not done well; I’ve had campaigns where we haven’t started really well and done really well.
“But the encouraging thing for me this season is the squad, the unity the boys have got and the personality and characters.”
Hampton started the season with a 5-0 win at Eastbourne Borough but have since lost 2-1 to Havant & Waterlooville and Concord.
