Pegasus Gymnastics Club's James Hall has set his sights on the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 following his Rio disappointment.
Hall, a reserve as Great Britain won team silver at the World Championships last year, missed out when the squad for Brazil was named last week.
Like Pegasus team-mate Courtney Tulloch, he’s turned his attentions to the next Games in four years.
Hall, 20, said: “We’re already thinking about Tokyo. It’s hard to explain but when you miss out on something big, you’re thinking ‘the next one’s mine, I’m putting everything into it’.
“There’s plenty to look forward to, it’s not just the about the Olympic Games. There’s the European Championships and the World Championships, so all this preparation is going somewhere.”
Hall learned a week before the announcement he had been left out of the five-man GB team.
He said: “It’s hard to take but the good thing is I did everything I could and worked as hard as I’ve ever worked before. It’s paying off but I’m just not quite ready.
“I’m still in the development stage, I’m only 20, I have four to eight years left, so it’s not the end of the world.”
