Maidstone have appointed Darren Hare as their new first-team coach.
The former Gills youth coach was in the dugout for United's 4-1 victory at Macclesfield on Saturday.
He replaces Colin Reid, who left a few weeks ago, and eases the workload on Stones manager Jay Saunders and No.2 Nicky Southall.
Saunders said: "Obviously we had Colin in with us for a bit but he's moved on and ideally you need three of you to make it work.
"Darren's someone I've known a long time, he's a very good coach and I think he'll add to the good group we've got already. His knowledge of the game is very good."
Hare, who managed Hastings in Ryman South last season, has been a regular at the Gallagher to watch his son Josh in action.
They were previously at Gillingham together, with Maidstone players quick to jump on the father-son connection.
Saunders said: "I think Josh's concern was the stick he'd get and Joe Anderson was straight on him. Joe's asked if we can get his dad a job as well!"
