Tunbridge Wells striker Jack Harris joined former Gillingham player Richard Rose at Maidstone United this week.

The 19-year-old striker played in the FA Vase final at Wembley last season and could be on the bench for Saturday's Ryman League Premier Division game at home to Enfield, with veteran striker Paul Booth set to join Folkestone on loan.

Boss Jay Saunders said: “Jack’s young and eager to prove himself at this level. It was a wrench for him to leave Tunbridge Wells because it’s all he’s known and all his friends are there.

“I tried to get him in pre-season, which is why we played them in a friendly so I could have a closer look.

It was the Boreham Wood FA Cup game that made me go back in for him. I looked at the bench when we were 2-0 down and trying to change the game, and we didn’t really have anyone different.

“He’s very raw and he could be out of his depth, but I don’t think he will be. I like bringing in young lads. It’s up to Jack to work hard and be ready for his opportunity when it comes along.”
