Midfielder Joe Healy has joined Maidstone United after leaving Welling.
Left-footed Healy scored 35 goals in 202 appearances for the Wings, helping them to the Conference South title in 2013, but was released last week.
The 28-year-old, comfortable out wide or in the centre, had other offers but picked National League South new boys Maidstone.
Healy said: "I played with Jamie Coyle (Stones player-coach) at Welling a few years ago and we've stayed in touch.
"He's always mentioned playing with him again and once Welling freed me up, Maidstone seemed a like a good fit.
"It's a good club, up-and-coming, well-supported and it's not far from home.
"I didn't expect to get released by Welling but I completely understand why.
"They train three mornings a week but with work I can only do one morning, so I didn't fit in.
"I was a little surprised with it coming so late in the summer but I've no problem with Welling.
"I had a few options once people found out but I played against Maidstone in the FA Cup last year and they looked a good team.
"With that crowd behind them, they were difficult to play against."
