AFC Hornchurch v Maidstone
Maidstone boss Lloyd Hume is urging his players to score more goals to bolster
their hopes of staying in the Ryman League Premier Division play-off picture.
Hume’s concerns are borne out by the fact that three of the bottom four teams have all hit the target more than the Stones this season, although they boast the league’s third best defensive record.
“I am not just talking about the strikers, we want goals from all over the pitch,” said Hume. “We are not scoring enough and had we done so, we would be further on in the race for the play-offs.
“We are still in it but injuries and suspensions are our biggest worry. If we lose two or three of our big players, we really will be depleted.”
James Peacock missed the second half of the Staines game with an ankle injury but should be fit for the trip to AFC Hornchurch on Saturday.
