Lloyd Hume knows Maidstone United can’t afford any more slip-ups in their remaining five Ryman League Premier Division games this season.
They travel to relegation-threatened Hendon tomorrow (Saturday), before facing champions Dover at Bourne Park on Easter Monday.
Joint manager Hume said: "We need to win every game to get into the play-offs and it’s hard to know whether having three out of the last five at home is a help or a hindrance.
"We have put our home hoodoo to bed but it’s not something that Alan (Walker) and I or the players concentrate on too much. The statistics tell their own story, though, we have dropped too many points there."
Homeless Hendon have been without a ground since Claremont Road was closed earlier this season, forcing to groundshare with neighbours Wembley or Harrow Borough where Stones go this weekend.
The north London club won five out of six at one stage to boost their survival hopes but one point out of nine, including a 5-1 defeat at Tonbridge last week, leaves them in the bottom four.
Tom Bradbrook is struggling with a recurring hamstring injury, having been replaced early on in Stones’ 2-1 win over Wealdstone on Saturday but hasn’t been definitely ruled out.
Meanwhile, former skipper Ben Lewis has been left kicking his heels after the Ryman League Board refused to sanction his move to rivals Margate last week.
A Stones statement said: "We believed an illegal approach had been made to the player and not the formal seven-day notice as per FA rules. The following day we cancelled Ben Lewis’registration.
"The Board then determined that the transfer would not be allowed in accordance with league rules."
Lewis won’t return to Stones, though, as a de-registered player can’t re-sign for the same club for 28 days but the club hope to help him get fixed up elsewhere.
Hume added: "I think Ben was left in an uncomfortable position and it’s a decision he regrets."
