Free-scoring Maidstone winger Blair Turgott has only one critic this season - himself.
Turgott has scored eight of the Stones' 11 National League goals and is in the form of his life.
Supporters are loving his work but the former West Ham youngster is never satisfied.
He said: "Every game I play, I want to play the best I can, so I'm my biggest critic.
"I look at my games over and over, things I've done well and things I can improve, because I'm not the finished article yet.
"I know there's so much more to go.
"To be high and demand big things of yourself, you've got to be your worst critic, and I think I am."
Turgott started the season with five goals under former Stones manager Jay Saunders.
He's followed up with three in three games for new boss Harry Wheeler since returning from suspension and confidence is sky-high.
He said: "I've given myself a massive chance to show what I can do by working hard in the off-season and hopefully it's starting to pay off in some sense by what I'm doing out on the pitch.
"To be honest, with the team I'm in at the moment I feel like I'm going to get a chance every game.
"I've just got to keep my concentration, keep working hard, doing the nasty bits, knowing there's going to be a chance.
"And when the chance does come I've got to be ready."
As well as his goals, Turgott's work rate has also caught the eye, tracking back and putting himself about.
He added: "That's something I've always done but the gaffer's implemented that massively by saying my role in and out of possession.
"From day one, it's been quite intense. We've worked really hard on the pitch.
"When a new manager comes in he wants to implement how he wants you to play.
"He's come across really well, so I've just tried to do that and take what we do at training into the game."
Turgott's goals have lifted Maidstone out of the bottom four - and he's all about the team.
He said: "Luckily for me I've been back for three games and scored three goals but, most importantly, we've got seven points out of nine.
"We were in the bottom four at one stage so if you gave us that, you'd say it's a great achievement."
