Powerboat racer Colin Jelf has his eyes on medal glory at the UIM F2 World Championship finale in Portugal.
The Harrietsham racer is looking to build upon his fourth place last time out when he takes to the water at Vila Vehla De Rodao in Portugal.
The penultimate round of the championship saw Abu Dhabi’s Rashed Al Qemzi secure the title, leaving the remaining competitors to battle for the silver and bronze medals. Jelf is fifth in the standings going into the weekend’s action.
There is also Grand Prix glory to be fought for and Jelf will be piling on the power to end the season with a podium finish.
“Vila Vehla De Rodao is a fantastic venue to host the final of the 2023 World Championship,” Jelf said.
“The competition has been fierce throughout the season and with several of us still in with a chance of World medals at the end of the weekend this race will be no different.
“I’ve got to bring my A-game this weekend and really focus on a podium finish and then hope for a little bit of luck.
“The silver and bronze medals are still up for grabs, and we won’t know who will walk away with them until the chequered flag is raised on Sunday.”
