Lashings eye another cricket legend

THE boss of the Maidstone-based cricket club Lashings, David Folb, is off on a shopping trip down under with Steve Waugh top of his wish list.

The Australian cricketing great, who retired earlier this month as captain of the national team, could join his brother Mark playing for the side this summer.

Mr Folb declined to make any formal comment but confirmed he will be travelling to New Zealand and Australia next month.

If he signs, Steve Waugh would probably play half a dozen high-profile matches for Lashings.

Lashings are off on tour to South Africa in April, Mr Folb revealed this week and have agreed a deal with the Grenadan Tourist Board to promote Lashings on the Caribbean Island.
