Sonny Miles has worked out how to stop Alex Akrofi – leave him to someone else.
Miles has trained with his new Maidstone team-mate for the first time since striker Akrofi gave him the runaround playing for Brentwood in an FA Cup tie last month.
Defender Miles is happy to see Akrofi in United colours after the pair’s battle at the Gallagher Stadium.
But he said: “I stayed away from him at training – he’s too quick for me! I let Steve Watt take care of him. He probably kicked him. That’s the only way to stop him!
“He’s raw, he’s quick and you just don’t know what he’s going to do.
“He’s got a bit of everything. He’s a strong lad but he also likes the ball to feet.
“A lot of players are either one or the other but he can do both.
“He was a tricky customer. At one point I had 10 yards on him and he still got to the ball before me. I’m not sure if that makes me slow or him quick.”
