THE Mote Ladies cricket side from Maidstone triumphed in the inaugural indoor Under-13 Lady Taverners National Trophy adding it to outdoor title they won last summer.
The girls from the county town travelled to the indoor school at Warwickshire’s county ground at Edgbaston to sweep all before them on their way to a second national crown.
Some 200 teams across 30 counties started the competition before Christmas with four regional winners battling it out in a round robin contest for the tag of National Champions .
The Mote Ladies (96 for one) beat Portsmouth (62 for five) in the first round, overcame Kings Norton by 10 runs in round two and then edged aside St Aidens by five runs to finish the day unbeaten.
They collected their silverware from former England captain Rachel Heyhoe-Flint, president of the Lady Taverners and ex-Warwickshire and England bowler Tim Munton.
