Chris Lewington has signed a new deal at Maidstone.
Lewington is back as goalkeeper coach and he'll also be pushing summer signing Jake Cole for the No.1 shirt.
Stones head of football John Still said: "We wanted to bring another goalkeeper in and it was always going to be Chris Lewington.
"He's a top man, he’s low maintenance, he comes in, he trains, you ask him a question, he gives you a straight answer, and it’s another one who’s worked with me before."
Lewington, who played under Still at Dagenham, joined United as goalkeeper coach in February.
But he soon found himself in the team and saved three spot-kicks as Maidstone beat Bromley on penalties in Kent Senior Cup final.
He'll be coaching Cole but, at only 30, he's more than capable of playing.
Still said: "He’s come to battle to be No.1.
"We brought Coley in, who've I've known for years.
"I love Coley, I love him as a goalkeeper, he was the first one we went for and we got him.
"I knew Lewy would still be with us, so we were nailed on with that from the start."
