Maidstone have completed a loan signing from the Football League in time for their FA Cup tie against Torquay.
Cameron James has joined the Stones from League 2 outfit Colchester on a one-month deal and is free to face the Gulls in tomorrow’s first-round clash at the Gallagher.
James, 21, plays in central midfield or defence and has made 29 appearances for the U’s in League 1, League 2, the League Cup and Football League Trophy.
He previously worked with Stones head coach Hakan Hayrettin during a loan spell at Braintree and has also spent time on loan at Chelmsford.
“I played for Hakan last year and we had a good relationship,” James told Maidstone’s website.
“I know his style of play and he knows mine, so he got in touch with Colchester about me coming in and that’s how the move came about.
“I played for Braintree against Maidstone last year so I’ve had a glimpse of what it’s like here with good, loud fans, so I’m looking forward to getting out there and playing in front of them.
“I can’t wait for tomorrow’s game. Everyone’s talking about it, it’s going to be a big crowd and it’s a great chance to showcase the talent we’ve got in this squad.”
