Maidstone forward Jamar Loza is set for an extended spell on the sidelines.
The Jamaica international is to have another scan on his injured calf today.
United have missed his creativity at the start of the National League season and it seems they'll have to do without him for a while yet.
Stones boss Jay Saunders, speaking after Saturday's defeat at Leyton Orient, said: "Jam’s going for a scan again on Monday.
"I think he’s still quite a way off, which is a big blow to us to be honest.
"It’s something I didn’t envisage when we came back for pre-season."
Maidstone have also been missing Johan ter Horst and Magnus Okuonghae, while Alex Finney picked up a groin injury at Ebbsfleet and Stuart Lewis is serving a three-match ban.
Saunders' options are limited but he won't be dipping back into the transfer market.
He said: "We are where we are at the moment.
"I think the boys are still capable of picking up results.
"We should be sitting here with more points on the table, we’ve just got to cut out the stupid mistakes because, at the end of the day, that’s what’s costing us."
