Harlow v Maidstone
Maidstone could have striker Meshach Nugent back in their side for Saturday's Ryman League Premier Division trip to Harlow.
The former Greenwich Borough striker’s one-month loan at Division 1 South side Croydon Athletic is due to expire today (Friday) and joint manager Alan Walker received the go-ahead from chairman Paul Bowden-Brown to bring him back earlier this week.
Walker said: “I have been juggling with figures but nothing has been finalised.
“I have also got to talk to Meshach but I am sure he would want to come back.”
Nugent was one of three players released after the club were put up for sale last month when Walker and fellow manager Lloyd Hume were forced to trim 40 per cent off the wage bill.
Ian Selley and Kevin Watson were also released and Croydon’s new management team, former Gillingham defender Tim O’Shea and ex-Stone Neil Smith, quickly snapped up the pair.
Meanwhile, Stones will check on the fitness of goalkeeper Andy Walker. He was forced to pull out of last Saturday’s home game with Hastings after suffering a shoulder injury in the warm-up. Steve Northwood is set to keep his place if Walker doesn’t make it.
