There was no messing with Michael Phillips on his first Maidstone start.
The former Crystal Palace youngster took no prisoners in an eye-catching performance at Wrexham on Saturday.
He's barely played men's football but there were no signs of nerves in front of almost 4,500 fans at the Racecourse Ground.
The 20-year-old worked hard in central midfield, made some superb challenges and looked well at home in a challenging atmosphere.
Stones boss Jay Saunders handed Phillips his full debut in place of Jai Reason, who was out with a hip injury.
Saunders said: "He had a good game. He wasn't fazed by it.
"He's a good player, so I'm pleased for him and I think he'll go on and be a good asset for us.
"It was a real welcome to men's football and he flew into some tackles and I saw him having arguments with some of their players and he didn't back down like some young lads would.
"I thought we missed Jai Reason in some areas, I think he keeps the ball well for us and his passing range is very good, but on that big pitch I thought Stuart Lewis and Michael Phillips' energy was very good."
