Welling forward George Porter has expressed his disappointment at failing to beat big-spending Eastleigh on Tuesday.
The Wings recovered from a slow start to lead 2-1 against the Hampshire outfit, only for an equaliser 12 minutes from time to peg them back.
"It's very disappointing not to get the three points, especially coming back from a goal down early on," said Porter.
"To go 2-1 up was really good but we switched off from the free-kick and they got the equaliser.
"We're happy with a point but we all knew we should have got three points against a team that are probably going to be up there this year.
"That speaks volumes for the squad and what we want to achieve this year."
Porter enjoyed his best display in a Wings shirt to date, playing the lone striker role to good effect.
His infectious work-rate and desire to chase lost causes certainly helped put Eastleigh on the backfoot.
"We knew what they were about," said Porter. "They are a big, physical team and it was important that we put in a good shift.
"It was difficult up there alone but I thought I gave their two centre-backs as many problems as I could.
"When we got balls in wide areas, they didn't like running backwards. It was easy for them to head the ball as they are all six-foot but in behind we gave them a bit of a problem and it worked well in the second half."
