English welterweight champion Sean Noakes was in attendance at Snodland Amateur Boxing Club’s latest show.
Maidstone boxer Noakes, who successfully defended his English welterweight title earlier this month, was joined by Medway professional Louis Greene at the Community Centre in Paddlesworth Road.
The pair handed out awards to all the amateurs after their fights and posed for pictures throughout the day.
Including Snodland ABC, there were 14 different clubs in attendance, competing on the stacked show which organised more than 20 bouts.
Snodland had eight of their own boxers competing on the all-day event that begun at 1pm and extended into the early evening.
Representing Snodland were amateur boxers Joshua Shaw - who kicked off the action - followed by Mason Gould, Cian Worcester, Max Groombridge, Ethan Goldup, Frazier Hammett, Carlo Vecchiolla and Matt Guerra. The age range of the boxers was from 10 to 22-years-old.
Visiting fighters came from clubs such as Kemsing, Swanley and Folkestone, but also as far afield as Barnstaple in Devon.
Snodland ABC coach Mark West was delighted with the turnout on the day. He said: “I’d like to say thank you to all the clubs that came along to help make our show a success.
“There were some fantastic bouts and I’m proud of all the Snodland lads for their performances.
“Also, thanks to Sean and Louis for taking time out of their busy training schedules to support our show, we all really appreciate it and it gave our lads a huge boost to have them cheering on at ringside.
“Thanks to everyone who helped make the show possible - Danny, Dean and Jane Ianson. Karl Gearing, Mark Finch, Steve Baker, Tim Rickson, Jo Lingham and Kelly Gould.”
Snodland ABC welcome all abilities to their club that train every Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm-9pm at the Snodland Community Centre, Paddlesworth Road, ME6 5DP.
