Back-up goalkeeper Lenny Holden made his league debut as a striker as Maidstone demolished promotion rivals Farnborough.
Teenager Holden played the final 10 minutes - including seven minutes of added time - after replacing the injured Temi Eweka.
With their four outfield substitutes already on the pitch, Stones boss George Elokobi turned to Holden, throwing him on up front.
His name was sung throughout his time on the pitch and he might even have scored, throwing himself at a cross.
Aaron Blair, Sol Wanjau-Smith, Antony Papadopoulos and Matt Rush all scored in an impressive display as Maidstone extended their unbeaten run to 15 games.
They’ve moved up a place to fifth in National League South.
Maidstone - unchanged from the midweek win at Salisbury - soon showed their intent to play in Farnborough’s half.
They were comfortably the better side, without carving out anything clear-cut early on.
The visitors, meanwhile, offered little in the way of a threat other than Guy Hollis’ long throws, all of which the Stones defence dealt with comfortably.
Maidstone’s attacking options gave the Boro backline plenty to think about.
Workaholic Blair was keeping them busy as the main striker, with Rush buzzing about behind him and Papadopoulos and Wanjau-Smith lively down the flanks.
A well-worked opening goal came in the 28th minute following a good run down the left by Wanjau-Smith.
He was fouled by Aaron Kuhl but with the ball going through to Blair, referee Steve Hughes played a sensible advantage.
Blair popped the ball back to Wanjau-Smith before getting himself to the edge of the box to collect the return pass and fire into the bottom corner.
A well-timed challenge denied Papadopoulos a shot on goal after running on to Blair’s pass before Maidstone doubled their lead in the 42nd minute.
In a reverse of the opening goal, Blair was the provider, playing a neat pass into the path of Wanjau-Smith, who finished off the inside of the far post.
Blair claimed his second assist as Maidstone increased their lead in the opening minute of the second half.
This time, he rolled the ball to Papadopoulos who smashed home first-time across keeper Jack Turner.
Farnborough rallied after the goal, with Richard Chin’s fancy footwork in the box bringing out a fine save from Alexis Andre Jr by his near post.
He made several other routine stops before the hour mark while Maidstone threatened again after another tricky run from Wanjau-Smith into the Boro box.
The Stones completed the scoring in the 75th minute.
Defender Temi Eweka met Ben Brookes’ corner from the left and Rush pounced to get the final touch.
