Maidstone midfielder James Rogers has joined Folkestone on loan for a month.
Rogers hasn't featured for Stones since he was substituted against Ebbsfleet in the second match of the season.
Stones boss Jay Saunders still feels last season's player-of-the-year has a big part to play at the Gallagher Stadium.
But he wants Rogers to get games and has allowed him to drop two levels to link up with Ryman League Division 1 South leaders Folkestone.
Saunders said: "Nearly every Ryman Premier club got back to me but it's one of them where his missus is expecting, he lives in Dover and didn't want to be travelling that far.
"He needs games and he's going to a team who are doing well.
"He'll get four or five games down there and be back for Ebbsfleet away.
"He was an important player for us last year and he'll be important this year but I need him back at full tilt.
"This is all about fitness and sharpness.
"If he wasn't part of my plans, I would have just said 'let's call it a day'."
Rogers could play six games for Invicta during his month at the Fullicks Stadium.
Folkestone boss Neil Cugley said: "I’m really pleased to have got him.
"He gives us just the kind of experience we need to get through the busy month we’ve got ahead of us.
"James is an excellent player who’s done well wherever he’s been and I know that he can do a good job for us."
Rogers is set to make his Folkestone debut away to Corinthian Casuals on Saturday but he won't be eligible for their FA Cup first qualifying round tie at Tonbridge next weekend.
