Midfielder Saidou Khan has joined one of the biggest clubs outside the Football League after leaving Maidstone.
He's landed a two-year deal at Chesterfield as the Spireites prepare for their fourth season in the National League.
The 25-year-old finished last season on loan at Dagenham after Maidstone furloughed their playing squad.
With his Stones contract up, the Gambian player had a number of options but Chesterfield have their man.
Manager James Rowe told his club website: "We are pleased that Saidou has chosen us over a number of other options.
"As some fans would have seen in our fixture versus Dagenham last season, he is an all-round midfielder who will get people excited when he picks up the ball.
"I'm sure our fans will make him feel welcome."
Khan shot to prominence in his first season at Maidstone with an FA Cup wonder goal at Blackpool in December 2019.
Scouts were soon sniffing around and there was serious interest from Championship club Luton.
Stones chief executive Bill Williams named Khan in his all-time XI last season.
