Manager Jay Saunders has called on Maidstone to repeat their Leyton Orient performance this weekend.
United lost 2-1 to the National League big boys on Tuesday night but Saunders took heart from their display.
There was a big improvement on the 3-0 defeat at FC Halifax and Saunders is convinced wins are round the corner.
United meet Barrow at the Gallagher Stadium on Saturday, buoyed by their efforts against the O's.
Saunders said: "We've got to cut out these little individual mistakes that sometimes you get with young lads but I'm sure we can do that.
"If we play like that then nine times out of 10 I fancy us to get a result.
"I was pleased with the reaction after Halifax.
"That was part of my team-talk that I wanted a reaction because I was a bit disappointed with our levels.
"We came out the blocks very sharp and I was really pleased with that side of things."
Barrow shocked Chesterfield 3-2 on Tuesday night, ending the Spireites' 100% start to the campaign.
They've picked up seven points from four games under new boss Ian Evatt, with the former Blackpool defender making big changes.
Saunders said: "They've a very different side to what they've been recently. Normally they're big and very direct.
"The new management have gone in there and they're playing some really good football. I've been impressed.
"We know plenty about them and they're a really good footballing side, quite young but with a sprinkle of experience as well.
"We've got to be on it again, our energy levels have got to be right, we've got to recover right, do our homework and hopefully get a result.
"A clean sheet would be a big thing for me. If we can get that, then I fancy us to win games."
Defender Alex Finney (groin) is a doubt while United must decide whether to restore George McLennan at left-back.
The summer signing from Ashford was left out against Orient, with Seth Nana Twumasi moving across from right-back.
Saunders said: "I just felt the last two games, Dagenham and Halifax, we got targeted down that side.
"You've got to remember, George has had a long time out of football.
"He's then come in at Ashford, he hasn't played this level for a couple of years.
"We'll pick the team we see fit for each game. Each game's different."
