CRICKET legend Viv Richards will be the star attraction when the Maidstone-based side Lashings take on three county opponents this month.
Richards, who was 50 in March, is to bat at number six when the team take the field against Durham at the Riverside Stadium on Wednesday.
Richards heads a glamorous line-up that is expected to attract a crowd of between 4,000 and 4,500 to the 45-over game that will be played under Norwich Union rules.
Trinidadian Brian Lara, who played for Lashings last season, is still not fully fit after breaking his elbow in December. He is not expected to face Durham, but could feature in the two 20-over games against Gloucestershire at Bristol on August 11 (12noon start) and the 45-over clash against Lancashire at Old Trafford (2pm) seven days later.
The line-up against Durham in batting order will be: Stuart Williams, Sherwin Campbell, Grant Flower, Richie Richardson (captain), Jimmy Adams, Viv Richards, Chris Harris, Stuart Carlisle, Junior Murray, Mohammad Akram, Shoaib Akhtar.
