On-loan Maidstone keeper Grant Smith has been recalled by Lincoln City.
Smith was due to be with the Stones until New Year's Eve but the Imps have exercised a call-back option.
He's set to be involved for the League 2 leaders in their Checkatrade Trophy match against Accrington tonight.
Stones boss Harry Wheeler said: “I am really disappointed to lose Grant but the recall was one of the conditions at the time we signed him.
“Lincoln and ourselves were keen to extend the loan into 2019 and now that’s not an option, I have already secured a new keeper who will be announced later today.”
Smith joined United as Lee Worgan's replacement at the end of October, making his debut in a 1-1 draw at Ebbsfleet.
He was named National League goalkeeper-of-the-year last season after helping Boreham Wood reach the play-off final.
Smith wrote on Twitter: "Want to thank Maidstone United for giving me the opportunity to play regular games. All the best for the rest of the season. Keep this club where it belongs!"
