Stones at full strength for first time

Joint boss Alan Walker faces a selection dilemma
Joint boss Alan Walker faces a selection dilemma

Billericay v Maidstone

MAIDSTONE United will have a full squad to choose from for the first time this season when they travel to Billericay for a Ryman League Premier Division fixture tonight.

Craig Roser emerged unscathed from his first 90 minutes of the season during the 2-0 defeat to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, while James Peacock, Aaron Lacy and Mo Takaloo are in contention after playing in the reserves’ 3-2 win at Thamesmead on Saturday.

Stones joint-manager Alan Walker admitted: "It’s a selection dilemma and it’s a good one to have because I’d much rather have everyone available."

"The personnel will be different from the last time we went there.

"Mo’s back, Luis Cumbers is available again and we’ve got Craig Roser so it augers well as they’re three of our strongest players." Cumbers, on-loan from Gillingham, was unavailable for the Stones FA Cup defeat at Billericay nine days ago as the Priestfield didn’t want him cup-tied.

Walker is wary of a possible backlash from the big-spending Essex side, who lost 5-2 at home to East Thurrock on Saturday, but is optimistic his side can avenge their FA Cup defeat: "Usually a result like that means they (Billericay) will be right up for it, but it’s all about us.

"I keep saying it, but if we play to our potential we’ll win the game. If we don’t we’ve very capable of being beaten."
