Maidstone are happy to be back on the road - even though they’re about to face the biggest club in the National League.
United are off to Prenton Park on Saturday to play a Tranmere Rovers side who are working their way up the table.
The Stones have won their last seven away games in league and cup while struggling at the Gallagher, losing 4-0 to Boreham Wood on Tuesday night.
Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “I suppose in a way it’ll suit us to go away from home and have that game because for whatever reason our home form’s just not happening and it’s frustrating because if we were picking up points here we’d be in a very good position in the league.
“People will talk about the home form and rightly so because we’re not picking up points and we’ve got to find the reason why and work out a way of getting those home wins.
“Maybe if we had everyone available we could look at personnel changes but we’re not in a position to do that.”
Maidstone have Delano Sam-Yorke and Jai Reason back from suspension but Alex Wynter (eye) is out for a fortnight while Ollie Muldoon, Tom Wraight and Josh Hare are still struggling with injuries.
The Stones are seventh, five points better off than 14th-placed Tranmere, but Saunders expects the Wirral club to challenge for promotion.
He said: “They’re a team that are putting a little run together.
“I still expect them to be there or thereabouts this season with the league being as tight as it is.
“They’re a club capable of getting players in and going on runs so it’ll be a difficult one.
“It’s nice to go to the big stadiums and, as players, that should be the case as well.
“I just want another game so we can try and get Boreham Wood out of the way.
“If we go there and get a positive result then we can quickly forget this and move on.”
