Maidstone manager Jay Saunders is in the market for another new centre-forward.

Saunders has already signed former Dover and Tonbridge striker Frannie Collin this summer but Shaun Welford and Ade Olorunda have left the club.

Teenage sensation Alfie Pavey, 17, also left, joining Millwall on a two-year scholarship.

Saunders said: “I’ve got Frannie, Ian Draycott and Boothy (Paul Booth) but he’s 38 and at this stage he’s helping a bit more with the fitness stuff.

“He can still score goals but at that age, it’s hard to play week in, week out.

“Fabio (Saraiva) can play there and I’m not in a major rush but if a target man comes along, I would be interested.”

FA Vase finalists Tunbridge Wells provide the opposition when the Stones start their pre-season programme at the Gallagher Stadium on Tuesday night, kick-off 7.45pm.
