Maidstone 2 Harrow 2
MAIDSTONE United were forced to settle for a point from their Ryman League Premier Division fixture with Harrow Borough on Wednesday night, after twice squandering the lead.
The Stones produced one of their best attacking displays of the season and took a 22nd-minute lead when Luis Cumbers’ cross was driven into the net by Nathan Paul.
Although Pat Mullin was forced into a breathtaking reflex save by Elliot Onochie, United dominated the rest of the half. However, they led just 1-0 at the break and were made to rue their profligacy four minutes after the restart.
Mullin made a rash charge out of his area, Mario McNish couldn’t hook the loose ball clear and Onochie pounced to make it 1-1.
On the hour the Stones bounced back, with Andy Martin injuring himself in the act of scoring following a Ben Lewis flick on, but with 21 minutes to play the defence parted like the Red Sea to allow Danny McGonigle in for the equaliser and a game that started out so promisingly fizzled out into a draw.
