Maidstone United National League South fixtures 2019/20

Maidstone start the new National League South season with a home game against Weymouth.

The clubs were separated by two divisions last season with United relegated from the National League while the Terras won the Southern League.

They last met at the end of the 1989 campaign with Maidstone winning 3-0 at Watling Street en route to lifting the Conference title during John Still's first spell in charge.

They go to Welling three days later as part of a busy August which includes eight league games.

United meet former boss Harry Wheeler when Billericay visit on October 26 while there are Boxing Day and New Year's Day derbies against old rivals Tonbridge.

Maidstone end the campaign at Slough on April 25.

Stones head of football Still is pretty relaxed about the fixtures.

He said: "It’s like cups. People go, ‘Who do you fancy in the cup?’ Well, whoever we get, we get.

"If we get what might be termed as a really difficult start, we get it.

"If we get what might be termed as not too difficult, that’s what we get.

"I’ll tell you what I’ve learnt in all the years I’ve done it - never presume anything.

"Sometimes you’re better off having a big hitter straight away because perhaps they’re not as good as they’re going to be.

"I genuinely don’t worry about who we play, whether it’s league or cup.

"Whoever it is, we’ve got to play them, so let’s go and play them."
