Maidstone v Hendon
MAIDSTONE United host Hendon on Saturday in the Ryman League Premier Division looking to avenge a 2-1 defeat in September as well as ease their relegation fears.
The Stones are just four points above the drop zone while Hendon, despite losing their last five league games, boast the best away scoring record (38 goals) in the division, are fourth.
Joint manager Alan Walker will be without top scorer Mo Takaloo (suspended) and Sam Tydeman (family wedding), while defender Chris Smalling will also be missing due to his international commitments with England under-18 schoolboys.
Walker, who is looking for a vast improvement in their defence after shipping four goals at Staines last weekend, he said: "Defensively we were a shambles. We were like schoolboys out there and I was very disappointed by the performances from some of our experienced defenders."
He added: "We were nowhere near good enough and that has got to change. We’ve had two good training sessions this week and are looking forward to Saturday."
The date of Stones' re-arranged game at Wealdstone has been confirmed as Tuesday, March 4 after the London club were knocked out of the Ryman League Cup.
