Maidstone v Ramsgate

MAIDSTONE go into their Kent derby with Ramsgate knowing victory would close the gap on the play-offs in a Ryman League Premier Division where just 12 points separate fifth from 19th.

Joint manager Alan Walker is without Errison Ahwan (hamstring) and Craig Roser (family bereavement), but welcomes back Chris Smalling from international schoolboy duty.

He said: "We know if we put a run of wins together we could end up in the play-offs but equally a run of defeats could see us in trouble.

"I am more concerned with consolidating our position in the league as I don't think we're ready to make the next step.

"Don't get me wrong, if promotion happened, I would take it, but we need to make sure we don't go down."
