Maidstone have made their first summer signing.
Defender Temi Eweka has joined the Stones after leaving fellow National League South club Slough.
The 24-year-old made 46 appearances in all competitions for the Rebels this season following his arrival from National League Maidenhead for an undisclosed fee.
Slough announced last week the centre-half had left Arbour Park for full-time football, with boss Scott Davies describing him as “one of the best you could wish to manage” and a “diamond of a lad”.
Eweka can't wait to get started at Maidstone after becoming George Elokobi’s first new addition in preparation for next season’s promotion push.
“It’s a massive club, a massive community, so I couldn’t pick a better place to come,” Eweka told Stones TV.
“I’ve been to the Gallagher before and I know once it gets rocking there’s no other place like it in non-league.
“I give 100% every week and every time I’m out there.
“I like to think I’m good on the ball, aggressive and good in the air, so a bit of an all-rounder.”
Eweka was still at Maidenhead when Maidstone met Slough on the opening day of the 2023/24 season, a 2-1 win for Elokobi’s side at the Gallagher.
But he played 90 minutes as the Rebels reversed that scoreline in the return match in January.
