Maidstone have agreed a deal with striker Johan ter Horst following his release by Hull City.
Ter Horst made headlines when he joined the Tigers as an 18-year-old after a prolific season at Folkestone, scoring 26 goals in his debut campaign.
He signed a three-year deal with Hull in 2014, then managed by Steve Bruce in the Premier League, but while he fared well in the youth sides, he never made a first-team appearance.
He went on trial with Lincoln in the National League last season and had a brief spell on loan at York.
Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “I am really pleased to get Johan on board.
“He’s someone I’ve liked since his Folkestone days and those three years at Hull will have improved his game even more.
“He has plenty of pace, is a good finisher and gives me different options to the frontmen we’ve already got.
“Playing with the likes of Joe Pigott, Delano Sam-Yorke and Jamar Loza, it’s an exciting frontline with pace, power and hopefully plenty of goals.”
Ter Horst, 22, is recovering from a shoulder injury and should be fit towards the end August.
He said: “I see this move as a very good opportunity for me.
“Maidstone is a club definitely on the way up and I hope that I can be a part of that, play a big part next season and score goals for the club. I am really looking forward to it.”
