Tom Mills is following Alex Flisher out of Maidstone United.
The left-back, who's made more Stones appearances than any other player since the club reformed in the early 1990s, was offered a new deal at the Gallagher Stadium.
But work commitments have forced him to walk away from the club where he's been a virtual fixture in the team since making his debut in 2010.
Maidstone boss Jay Saunders said: "I am absolutely gutted to lose Millsy but totally respect his decision. He’s moved out of his parents’ place recently, got a mortgage and priorities change. I’ve been there and had to weigh up that dilemma.
"He was one of the first names on the team sheet and with every promotion he stepped up and proved himself.
"To reach nearly 350 appearances is exceptional and it will take a few years for someone to surpass that. I am sure everyone will join me in wishing him every success."
Chief executive Bill Williams added: "I cannot believe I am commenting on the departure of Tommy Mills. Alongside Alex Flisher, this really is the end of an era – the last two bastions from the Bourne Park and Homelands days.
"They say that action speaks louder than words and although Tom was one of the quieter members of the squad, he was Mr Consistent on the field.
"We thank him for everything he’s done and wish him well for the future."
Mills and Flisher - whose departure was confirmed on Thursday - are both contracted to the club and have been placed on the transfer list.
