Vas Karagiannis has been told he can leave Maidstone.
The popular winger is on the transfer list after failing to force his way into the side this season.
He has made only two substitute appearances in five National League games, with summer signing Tom Murphy preferred.
Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “We’ve made Vas available for transfer, so we’ll see what offers come in.
“I’ve said to him to carry on training and working hard in the meantime.
“If he gets an opportunity and takes it, then great, but I just feel it’s going to be difficult for him to get minutes.
“I think it possibly came as a bit of a surprise to him but you have to make difficult decisions sometimes.
“I had to be honest with him because he’s a good lad and I’ve got a lot of time for him. He sort of said he wants to be playing and I don’t see that happening here.
“You never know but I just feel he’ll have more of an opportunity elsewhere.”
Maidstone take on pre-season title favourites Forest Green Rovers at the Gallagher on Saturday, followed by Boreham Wood away on Bank Holiday Monday (both 3pm).
Right-back Callum Driver has been ruled out for six to eight weeks after a scan showed a hairline fracture in his foot but Stones, in 12th, should otherwise be at full strength for the visit of sixth-placed Rovers.
