Maidstone boss Jay Saunders has signed midfielder Jai Reason.
Although the 27-year-old finished last season at Boreham Wood, he had spent five years at Eastleigh - for whom he made more than 250 appearances.
Reason came to prominence at Braintree, having started his career at Ipswich and also featuring for Cambridge United and Crawley.
Saunders said: "I met Jai at the end of the season once he left Boreham Wood.
"For one reason or another it didn't happen but we've got there.
"I wanted to bring in some experienced lads and he is certainly that. It's good to have him on board.
"The first time I saw him was when we played Eastleigh about four years ago.
"He is always someone I've been impressed with. It was important to get another body in midfield and someone who knows the level."
Reason added: "I've been training on my own for three weeks but I can't wait to get going.
"The one thing that sold it for me was the fans. When I came down here with Boreham Wood there was over 3,000 fans and they made a lot of noise."
