Jay Saunders has called on Maidstone to hit the levels of the past two games as they bid to upset National League leaders Macclesfield.
United may have lost to Boreham Wood and Tranmere but showed more than enough to suggest their winless run, standing at 17 games, will soon be over.
It won't be easy at the Gallagher tonight, with the Silkmen five points clear at the top, but United are improving and won 4-1 at Moss Rose in September.
Boss Saunders knows his side are getting closer to a first league win since their 1-0 success at Torquay on November 11.
He said: "If we can get to the levels we reached against Boreham Wood and Tranmere then things will change for us.
"I’ve no doubt about that, it’s just a case of keep doing the right things and we stick together and keep trying to carry out game plans.
"I’m sure no one will fancy us but no one fancied us against Tranmere.
"I know we didn’t come out of that with anything but they went away knowing they’d been in a real game."
Seth Twumasi starts a two-game suspension after picking up his 10th booking against Tranmere, meaning a return for Joe Anderson at left-wing-back, while skipper Stuart Lewis completes a ban.
But Alex Wynter (hamstring) and Andre Coker (thigh) are back in contention as United look to complete the double over John Askey's in-form Silkmen.
Saunders said: "John's done a great job there and they're in a really strong position.
"They’re the frontrunners and there to be shot at so there’s a bit of pressure on them coming to us but at the same time they’re a very good side.
"They’ve been up there now for quite a while and they’re dealing with the pressure well."
