Jay Saunders branded Maidstone's performance against Solihull a shambles and told players they were cheating themselves.
A series of errors proved costly as the visitors came from behind to win 4-2 at the Gallagher.
All three goals in open play were avoidable while Saunders said the referee was right to award a penalty against Dan Sweeney for a "moment of madness" in getting caught trying to beat a man in his own box.

Defeat saw Maidstone drop four places to 15th in the National League table.
Boss Saunders said: "Whatever level of football you play at, you give a team four goals you aren’t going to win.
"Solihull, to be fair, they’ve come here and done a job but they’ve not had to work for any of their goals. We’ve literally given them four goals.
"It was a shambles, I thought, from the defence to the midfield, just not good enough.
"We just kept giving the ball away and I’ve just said to them in there, they’re cheating themselves, they’re cheating me, the club, because you can’t go away to Torquay and all these grounds and put in good performances and then give that at home because that’s not acceptable.
"It’s not happened I don’t think since I’ve been manager, those mistakes - it’s embarrassing. But we’ve got to pick ourselves up and get on with it."
