Maidstone United have signed striker Alex Akrofi on an 18-month contract from Brentwood Town.

Akrofi, 19, impressed playing against United in an FA Cup qualifier at the Gallagher Stadium last month.

Stones boss Jay Saunders made enquiries and a deal has been completed.

Akrofi came through the ranks at Ryman League Division 1 North Brentwood and has attracted interest from Football League sides.

United will travel to Brentwood for a pre-season friendly as part of the move.
