Maidstone have signed Alex Finney on a two-year deal.

Finney had lots of interest following his release by QPR but decided United are the club for him.

The defender had a brilliant season on loan at the Gallagher Stadium from Rangers, winning the manager's and supporters' player-of-the-year award.

At 22, the former Leyton Orient and Bolton man wanted to explore his options but says Maidstone have a "special place in my heart".

News of his signing is sure to go down well with Stones fans who have been desperate to see him return.

The defence is taking shape nicely, with Seth Nana Twumasi, Jordan Wynter and Will De Havilland also on board for next season.
