Maidstone have moved quickly to replace Tom Mills by landing former Bromley left-back Joe Anderson.
Anderson, 27, has agreed a one-year deal and is the club’s fourth summer signing, following Delano Sam-Yorke, Reece Prestedge and Stuart Lewis.
He trained with Maidstone after leaving Bromley and brings good experience having started his career at Fulham, making his debut in a League Cup tie against Manchester City.
He also played in the Football League with Lincoln and had spells at Hornchurch, Billericay and Cambridge before joining Bromley four years ago, winning Conference South.
Work commitments prevented double player-of-the-year winner Mills taking up a new deal and Stones have wasted no time in securing his replacement.
Manager Jay Saunders said: “Obviously with the whole Millsy thing, it was important we got a quality replacement and Joe’s exactly that. I’m delighted to have him on board.
“He’s got plenty of experience. I didn’t want to bring a young lad in who doesn’t know the league, I wanted someone to come in who knows the league and will add and improve us and I think Joe will do that.
“I’ve always been impressed with him whenever I’ve seen him play.
“Everyone you speak to has got nothing but good things to say and I think he’ll be a great addition for us.”
