Maidstone have signed Sutton midfielder Josh Taylor on loan for the rest of the season.
Stones joint caretaker manager Simon Walton knows the 23-year-old from his time as a player with the U’s.
Taylor, who operates anywhere across midfield, spent four years in America on a football scholarship before joining Sutton at the start of last season.
He’s played more than 50 times for Paul Doswell’s side, including 12 starts this term, and made his England C debut in a 1-0 win over Estonia in October.
Walton told the Stones website: “Josh is somebody I know well and is a player who adds quality in the final third to the squad.
“He is an England C international and last season was courted by various Championship and League 1 clubs.
“He’s the type of character who works hard and wants to do well and fits into the ethos we are trying to install into this group of players.
“We thank Paul Doswell and Sutton United for allowing us to bring Josh in at such short notice.”
Walton told KentOnline he and fellow caretaker boss Tristan Lewis had been given the green light to sign players and said they were working on a couple of signings after losing Sean Shields and Jake Cassidy.
